The Black Panther Premiere was SOOOOOOO LIT!!!! I’m still amped off the experience and the movie and the interviews and the enthusiasm throughout the movie and the fact that I was chosen to attend this premiere and I could just keep going and going but I know you want to hear more about the premiere itself. Besides, I have quite a few more blog posts coming that I will be able to express ALL of my excitement in, so stay tuned.
My Purple Carpet Look
For the purple carpet, I wanted to go with a different look. I wanted a classy, yet Dora Milaje bad ass look. So my little creative mind went to work and came up with the following outfit. Some of the accessories were pieced together from my closet (like the leather belt and glasses) due to the fact that I am a shopaholic and I have a lot of clothes. While some other items I picked up to help make me look Divalicious. It was important to me to look AMAZING on the purple carpet, which I achieved, but also to wear something that could be repurposed…again something I achieved.
I have received a few inboxes inquiring about my jewelry and my top, so above are the links to the Jewelry that I purchased for the event, yes the necklace was only $9. Don’t be surprised by now y’all should know that I am Frugal even when I am FLY. My Peplum top was purchased from www.perfectfitfashion4u.com, which is actually a local boutique near me. They are currently offering 15% off when you order through their website.
As for my hair, I went with the faux loc in a bun style, giving me that Afrocentric feel, and yet the bun gave a classy clean look. My faux locs were done by my younger cousin Jay, yes I have a very talented family. Hair in place, eyebrows on fleek, Outfit fresh to death, I completely nailed the look I wanted!!!
Arriving at the Purple Carpet
The line of people waiting to get into the premiere was crazy. My understanding from talking to people in line, The Black Panther Premiere was definitely the place to be and well I was one of the ones who was blessed to be attending. It took a moment to get in so, in true diva style I did what I do best when I’m cute and waiting to get into somewhere….I posed for the camera and said click!!!
Once inside the premiere
It was star-studded and it was happening again. I found myself singing I’m going to Wakanda to the tune of I am going up the Yonder. I couldn’t help it, right before my eyes were some of the most beautiful African inspired and Afro-centric looks that I had ever seen. Chadwick and Lupita stole the the Purple carpet with their looks.
And well Queen Angela, honey she stole our hearts and the stage in her Yellow Fringe Pantsuit.
Then there was the car – no the car wasn’t Afrocentric or dressed up, but the car was “THE CAR”, you know the one you keep seeing on the trailers and well I got to touch it, rub it, and stand next to it. I think I had a fan girl moment with “The Car”.
Just as I expected the Premiere was lit, the movie was lit and my emotions after the movie was over was lit.
Look the trailer told us already that the Revolution will not be televised, but Black Panther will be in theaters everywhere on February 16, 2018. Get your tickets!
