Black Panther Premiere Here I Come
I wish that I could say that I am not easily excited, but when it comes to anything Disney, Marvel, Pandora, Football, Wrestling, or Michael Kors. It’s super hard for me to contain my excitement. So you probably can imagine that when I got the email inviting me to attend the Premiere of Marvel’s Black Panther, well things got a little Lit. I not only got excited, I also lost my voice & my lashes.
Since we are all friends and Y’all don’t judge me for my shenanigans let me tell you how things went down. Here’s my story….Remember this is a no judgment zone. So once upon a time, not too long ago, in a room I call my office. I was…….
Because I had heard that the Black Panther Event Invites had gone out. Now I was secretly wishing…who am I kidding? When I want something it’s NEVER secretive, so let me tell the truth. I had been hinting about wanting to be apart of this EPIC event, in the hopes that my Disney PR Rep would see my hints. So when the invites went out, it was only natural for me to sit in front of my computer for hours refreshing my email to see if I got an invite. I mean there is nothing weird, strange or stalkerish about that right? Great, glad we could agree that I am perfectly normal. So like I was saying (lol) my poor email mailbox got refreshed 50-11 times in the hopes that I would be one of the lucky 25 bloggers chosen to attend.
My emotions were all over the place, my fingers hurt from pressing the refresh button, I even sent myself an email or two just to make sure I could get emails (do not judge me, you already agreed that I was normal). Then it happened, all of a sudden….
I had mail. Did I spy a subject line that read: Disney, Marvel Studios & Disney/Pixar Invite You to Los Angeles! 1/28-1/31? Yassss honey, I had an invite to The Black Panther Event. My wish had just come true and I couldn’t help what happened next. First I screamed at the top of my lungs, then I cried, then I screamed again, then I cried and lost all of my fake eyelashes on my right eye. I could still see, so I was good and kept crying and screaming. Then at some point, I found myself like this……
That was me responding to my favorite Disney Magic Maker and checking my vacation calendar to make sure I could make it work. Dates were clear for me to go, I still needed a sitter for the kids so I called my older brother like “Hey, January 28th to the 31st you are kid sitting?” He didn’t have a chance to respond before I hung up the phone. Kids are taken care of. Okay, I’m good to go…a few more tears, screams and oooops there went the other lashes.
Super emotional but seated I realized this moment required a dance. You would have thought I had the Holy Ghost because it became like a scene from church. I found myself singing “I’m going to Wakanda” in the same tune as “I’m going up the Yonder”. (You are singing it now too, catchy huh? lol) I totally did the most!!!! Only to look back and see my kids in the doorway clueless of why Mommy was acting a fool and looking at me like….
(FYI: Those are MY KIDS…they killing it ain’t they. They get it from they Momma…lol) Then we all took a moment to breathe and realize that this Diva is headed to Sunny LA from 1/28/18 to 1/31/18.
While in LA I will be attending the Premiere of Marvel’s Black Panther, as well as interviewing cast members from Black Panther. Want to know who? Follow the hashtag #BlackPantherEvent to get a behind the scenes look at Black Panther.
Marvel Studios’ BLACK PANTHER follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
